LP4Q condemns the visit of the Israeli Knesset Speaker to Morocco and calls for a retraction of such steps
The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds condemns the visit of Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana to the kingdom of Morocco and the signing of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen parliamentary work with the speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives.
The league confirms that this visit came as a result of a wrong political assessment that harms the Palestinian cause, and comes at a time when the occupied city of Jerusalem is deteriorating in an unprecedented manner, the frequency of attacks and intrusions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increasing attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division in Al-Aqsa.
The league clarifies that Morocco, which chairs the Al-Quds Committee and whose mission is to protect the holy city, should have faced the plans of the occupation and the Israeli attempts to obliterate the Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem, especially under the most radical Israeli government in the history of the occupation.
The league commends the Moroccan parliamentary, trade union and popular positions that reject the development of relations with the occupation, it also calls on the Moroccan state to retreat from these steps, which will harm Morocco's image and status, and to take a firm and clear position on the occupation and boycott it because pressure is the only way to achieve Palestinian, Arab and Islamic rights in Jerusalem, especially that the occupation does not comply with UN resolutions and deliberately defies international institutions and disregards their decisions.
