The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds affirmed, today Monday, its commitment to work to enhance the presence of the Palestinian cause in Arab, Islamic and international parliaments.

 The League’s president, Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, said during the meeting of the league’s executive body, that the league informed parliamentarians of the crime of the Israeli occupation against journalist Shereen Abu Aqleh, indicating that the executive board discussed the developments of the Palestinian cause and the recent attacks by the occupation on the occupied city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

 Al-Ahmar indicated that the League is strengthening its presence in international parliamentary institutions, and has obtained membership in a number of these institutions to serve the Palestinian cause, and is preparing to carry out several visits during the coming period, most notably to Qatar, Nigeria and Latin America, to discuss supporting the rights of the Palestinian people in Parliament and legally.

 The executive committee offered condolences to the Palestinian people for the martyrdom of journalist Shereen Abu Aqleh, who was shot by the occupation while covering the occupation's attacks on the city of Jenin.

The meeting was held at the headquarters of the league in Istanbul, with the participation of Vice-President of the League, President of the League of Turkey, the Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance, Dr.  Nureddin Nebati, Vice President of the League, and Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in the Indonesian Parliament, MP Dr.  Fadli Zon, Chairman of the Palestinian-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee, MP Hasan Turan, Representative in the Kuwaiti National Assembly Osama Al-Shaheen, Chairman of the Defense and Foreign Relations Committee of the Pakistani Senate, Senator Mushahid Hussain, Member of the Committee Adil Rashid, and Assistant to the President in Asia from Jordan, Muhammad Aql,  Member of the Moroccan Parliament, Abdul-ilah Al-Halouti, and the Director General of the League, Dr.  Mohammad Makram Balawi, and the head of the public relations department in the league, eng. Abdullah Al-Beltaji.
