The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine participates in the 47th conference of the African Parliamentary Union

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, headed by its President Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, Secretary-General of the League Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and the League President's advisor, Yunusa Abu Bakr, participated in the activities of the 47th session of the African Parliamentary Union, held in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.

The League's participation came within the framework of enhancing the role of African parliamentarians and parliamentary diplomacy in supporting the Palestinian cause, and monitoring efforts to lift the blockade on Gaza and end the Israeli aggression.

During the opening session, Mr. Al-Ahmar affirmed that the Palestinian issue is a matter for the parliaments and governments of the free world that value the principles of justice and humanity, adding that the League is working to expand cooperation with African parliaments and build a continental parliamentary alliance that supports the Palestinians' struggle for their legitimate rights.

During its participation in the conference, the League held a series of bilateral meetings with Palestinian committees, parliamentary friendship committees, and participating parliamentary delegations to discuss the adoption of parliamentary resolutions supportive of the Palestinian cause.

The 47th session of the African Parliamentary Union was held in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, from November 18 to 22, 2025.

The conference witnessed the election of several officials in the Union's structures, and the adoption of recommendations and final memoranda emphasizing the need to unify the African parliamentary stance on international issues, and activate parliamentary diplomacy as a positive pressure tool in peace, justice, and people's rights files.
