The President of the league emphasizes the necessity of not returning to war on Gaza and implementing a comprehensive vision for reconstruction

The President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, said that the scenes of the heinous war and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza "will not be erased from the memory of humanity," stressing that "it is imperative not to allow the occupation to repeat them under any circumstances."

Al-Ahmar called in a tweet on the Arab and Islamic countries and the free countries supporting the Palestinian cause to continue their efforts to ensure the non-return of war, and to achieve a lasting peace that enables Gazans to live freely and dignified away from the occupation interference.

He pointed out that the urgent action needed today is to work diligently to establish an independent Palestinian state with its capital in occupied Jerusalem, dismantle the settlements in the West Bank, and ensure the right of return for Palestinian refugees, adding that "Gaza did its part when it brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront of international attention, corrected the misconceptions that Zionism promoted for decades, and launched an unprecedented global humanitarian movement in support of the Palestinian cause."

Al-Ahmar called on the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to bear their responsibilities in turning United Nations resolutions into tangible reality within two to three years at most, to ensure the end of the Israeli occupation and the establishment of a free Palestinian state with full sovereignty, emphasizing the necessity of "preventing the occupation government from obstructing any peace plan or distorting it from its basic objectives, foremost of which is the permanent cessation of war, complete withdrawal from Gaza, lifting the blockade, and reconstruction."

He stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian position rejecting any foreign guardianship or administration of Gaza, and assisting Palestinians in forming an independent administration for the sector representing the people of Gaza and Palestine without Israeli or external domination.

The President also called for an urgent field plan to rebuild Gaza by distributing tasks among five main entities (Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Indonesia), with each entity responsible for a governorate in the sector, emphasizing the importance of establishing a joint body from these countries to coordinate efforts and receive financial and relief contributions from the rest of the Arab and Islamic countries and international organizations, to be implemented within a period not exceeding 6 to 12 months, culminating in an international conference for the reconstruction of the sector.

He explained that the tasks include providing urgent aid, clearing rubble, providing temporary housing, renovating health, educational, and worship facilities, rehabilitating roads and basic infrastructure, with a comprehensive damage assessment in preparation for full reconstruction.

He stated that the costs of rebuilding Gaza should be distributed among five main entities, namely Israel as the aggressor and the cause of destruction, the United States as a major partner in the war, European partners of Israel (Britain, France, Germany, Italy), Arab and Islamic countries, and international institutions and other countries in the world willing to contribute.

The President concluded his tweet by affirming that parliamentarians and civil society institutions will continue to make efforts to turn this vision into a reality on the ground, in support of the steadfast Palestinian people and in fulfillment of their sacrifices.
