The Turkish Parliament condemns the occupation's attack on the Sumud Flotilla to break the siege on Gaza

The Turkish Parliament condemns the occupation's attack on the Sumud Flotilla to break the siege on Gaza

The Turkish Parliament unanimously approved a memorandum condemning the Israeli attacks on humanitarian aid flotillas heading to Gaza, stating that "the attack on the ship of conscience, which carried 21 Turkish citizens, is a despicable attack on the Turkish Parliament."

The memorandum stated: "On behalf of all political parties and members of parliament, we declare our full support for our three deputies, our detained citizens, and all the heroes who set out to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza."

It pointed out that Gaza, which has been living under a harsh Israeli blockade for a long time, has been subjected to genocide by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu for two years, and has also been struggling for months with hunger and a shortage of basic supplies.

The memorandum affirmed that the "Global Sumud Flotilla" represents a strong voice for the human front, aiming to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, break the illegal siege imposed by Israel, and shed light on the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

It continued: "Israel has added a new crime to the genocidal crimes and other war crimes it commits by attacking the Fleet of Steadfastness, which is a peaceful and civilian attempt, in international waters, obstructing the arrival of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, once again violating international law."

The memorandum added: "Despite international reactions, the perpetrator Netanyahu and his gang this time attacked the Freedom Flotilla alliance."

It called on all parliaments and international parliamentary associations to take a common stance and raise their voices to end the policies of occupation, annexation, and genocide practiced by Israel against the Palestinian people, ensure the continuous and comprehensive delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and hold Israel accountable for its crimes against humanity.

The International Committee to Break the Siege on Gaza announced that the "Freedom Fleet" heading to the Palestinian territory was subjected to an Israeli attack in international waters, days after its attack on the "Steadfastness Fleet."

The "Sumud Fleet," consisting of 11 ships, set sail days ago with civilian activists and humanitarian aid for the besieged sector, where about 2.4 million Palestinians live in dire conditions.
