The Secretary-General of the League holds a meeting with the Malian MP Alioune Gueye to discuss enhancing cooperation

The Secretary-General of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, Dr. Mohamed Makram Balawi, received at the League's headquarters the Malian parliamentarian, Alioune Gueye, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the League and the parliament, especially the Palestinian parliamentary friendship committee.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the league reviewed the prospects of joint coordination on issues related to Palestine at the parliamentary level, and ways to unify positions within the African parliament to support Palestinian rights in international and regional forums.

The Secretary-General of the league briefed MP Gueye on the league's ongoing efforts to stop the genocide in Gaza, and the diplomatic and parliamentary efforts it is making to unify positions against Israeli aggression, noting the participation of several league members in the "Global Flotilla of Sumud" to break the siege imposed on the sector.

Balawi also presented an overview of the league's vision to expand its work and enhance its presence within the African continent, ensuring more parliamentary support for the Palestinian cause, and contributing to unifying the political discourse against Israeli occupation.

On his part, the Malian deputy appreciated the efforts made by the league in defending Palestine, emphasizing his keenness to strengthen cooperation with it and support its initiatives on both the African and international levels.

He also reviewed the ongoing efforts to activate new initiatives within the parliament related to the Palestinian issue, expressing his readiness to engage more effectively in the league's activities.
