The executive committee of the league holds its regular meeting and approves a number of steps and activities

The Executive Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine held its regular meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the President of the League, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, where the latest developments and risks facing the Palestinian issue, and the activities of the League were discussed.

The meeting discussed the efforts of the League to stop the genocide in Gaza, the ongoing attacks on the occupied city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as ways to enhance international parliamentary work to support the rights of the Palestinian people and the rule of law.

In his opening speech, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar addressed the escalating Israeli aggression, expressing concerns that the open and political support from the current US administration provides cover for what he described as crimes and violations.

Al-Ahmar pointed out that the Israeli occupation does not fear international accountability, and the absence of accountability gives the Israeli government the freedom to persist, affirming that "the mentality leading these violations is still shielded by some international powers."

He also expressed his dismay at the positions of the United Nations, especially the omission of mentioning Israel in the Security Council statements during the discussion of the Israeli aggression on the Qatari capital, Doha, considering it a clear violation of diplomatic norms, weakening the credibility of the international community and encouraging the occupation to continue.

Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar called on parliamentarians worldwide to fulfill their responsibilities in representing their people through tangible political positions, calling for rejecting aggression and advocating for an end to genocide.

The Secretary-General of the League reviewed the League's key activities and events in the upcoming period, following up on the recommendations of the previous meeting, focusing on coordinating with parliamentarians and international partners to escalate legal and political efforts against the occupation.

He explained that the League continues its work to build an influential network of young parliamentarians who can play a role in the future in supporting the Palestinian cause internally and externally.

He also discussed a series of proposals to enhance the League's work in addition to preparing for the General Assembly meeting of the League in the upcoming period.

He also reviewed the League's efforts in communicating with international and parliamentary organizations regarding the genocide in Gaza and the famine, in addition to communicating with the entities organizing the "Flotilla of Endurance" to break the siege on Gaza, and the participating parliamentarians to enhance coordination in this context.
