President of the Algerian National People's Assembly Condemns Decision to Halt Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

The President of the Algerian National People's Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, strongly condemned on Monday the Israeli occupation’s decision to stop the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, considering it a "blatant violation of international humanitarian law."

In a statement, the President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union described the Israeli occupation’s decision to halt the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza as "a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, a blatant breach of ceasefire agreements, and a clear transgression against international charters and agreements."

The statement affirmed "the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union’s absolute rejection of using humanitarian aid as a tool for political blackmail and as a means to starve millions of civilians, especially in light of the severe deterioration of humanitarian conditions inside the Gaza Strip, where its residents are facing catastrophic living conditions that have become unbearable, particularly during this holy month."

The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union called on the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and to take immediate action to compel the Israeli occupation to ensure the safe and sustainable flow of aid into the Gaza Strip without any restrictions or obstacles, and to lift the blockade on the Palestinian people, who are facing the most horrific forms of siege and starvation in blatant defiance of all human values and principles.
