Issued by the "League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine" on the Occasion of 1,000 Days of the Genocidal War in Gaza
As the genocidal war waged by the occupation against the Gaza Strip enters its 1,000th day, the "League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine" affirms that the continuation of this historical slaughter represents a resounding failure of the international system. It is a test in which all human rights slogans have collapsed in the face of the arrogance of a war machine backed by blatant political and military cover.
The past 1,000 days have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the occupation does not seek peace. Instead, it is proceeding with the implementation of a comprehensive liquidation plan and a dangerous demographic and geographic re-engineering of the Gaza Stripācarving out vast areas of the Strip and crowding its people into a narrow strip that lacks the barest necessities of life, while using "starvation" and the closure of crossings as a tool for humanitarian blackmail, in a full-fledged war crime.
What is happening in Gaza is inseparable from the comprehensive blueprint targeting the Palestinian existence; in the dungeons of the occupation prisons, thousands of captives languish under the weight of enforced disappearance and brutal torture. Meanwhile, the occupied city of Jerusalem and the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque are facing an unprecedented existential danger, and in the West Bank, systematic settlement expansion is proceeding at a frenzied pace to forcibly displace Palestinians.
In light of this dangerous historical turning point, we in the "League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine" affirm the following:
First: We salute the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people facing the machine of oppression, and we affirm that this resilience is the rock upon which all projects of liquidation and surrender will shatter.
Second: We call upon all parliaments in the Islamic and international world to move immediately from the squares of denunciation and condemnation to the squares of effective action and legislation, and to form a global parliamentary alliance to break the siege on Gaza and impose political and economic sanctions on the occupation.
Third: We demand that parliaments urge their governments to adopt the UN "Blacklist" that included the occupation as a perpetrator of violations, and to use it as a legal document of condemnation to pressure the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants against the leaders of the occupation and its prison service officials.
Fourth: We emphasize the need to activate field parliamentary diplomacy, demand binding international intervention to permanently open all crossings, and dispatch parliamentary delegations to visit the Gaza Strip to break the isolation imposed upon it.
Fifth: We call for enacting legislation that criminalizes dealing with the occupation and its supporters, supporting the prosecution of its leaders in international courts, and establishing sustainable support funds to bolster the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank.
