The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine Condemns the Occupation's Brutal Assault on "Freedom Flotilla" Activists and the Publication of Humiliating Footage

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces in their brutal and barbaric assault on peace activists and international solidarity advocates participating in the "Freedom Flotilla" aimed at breaking the blockade on the Gaza Strip, following their abduction from international waters.

The League strongly denounces the deliberate publication by the occupation's apparatuses and extremist ministers of video clips documenting humiliating and degrading treatment against these peaceful, unarmed activists, with the blatant and direct participation and incitement of the Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir.

This sadistic behavior represents an unprecedented moral degradation and a flagrant violation of all international human rights conventions, as well as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which criminalizes cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment.

The fact that ministers in the occupation government boast about assaulting civilian activists and documenting their humiliation proves to the entire world that terrorism, piracy, and the violation of human dignity constitute a systematic "state policy" managed and executed from the highest political levels.

The League holds the Israeli occupation government fully criminally and legally responsible for the lives, safety, and freedom of all "Freedom Flotilla" activists. We demand their immediate and unconditional release, and that those responsible for the assault be held accountable.

Key Demands and Calls to Action:

• To the International Criminal Court (ICC): The League demands that the ICC include this crime—and the video evidence published yesterday boasting of these violations—as definitive incriminating evidence in the ongoing investigations to prosecute occupation leaders, and to issue arrest warrants for the involved ministers.

• To National Parliaments: The League calls upon the parliaments of the countries whose nationals were assaulted to take firm political and diplomatic steps to protect their citizens, summon the occupation entity's ambassadors in protest, and file indictments before their national courts in accordance with the principle of universal jurisdiction.

• To the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the International Community: The League urges them to move beyond verbal condemnation and impose deterrent international sanctions on the occupation entity, which is acting as a rogue state above the law.

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine salutes the immense courage and noble stance of the "Freedom Flotilla" activists who stood against the Israeli machine of oppression in defense of justice.
