The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine Warns of Occupation's Plans to Complete Gaza Strip Occupation and Implement Forced Displacement

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine expresses deep concern and strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation's announcement to approve a military plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, in a dangerous escalation of the genocidal path and forced displacement that the Palestinian people have been subjected to for nearly two years.

The League emphasizes that what is presented under the names "full control" and "providing aid outside combat zones" is nothing but a political and military cover for an old-new plan aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their land, emptying the sector of its inhabitants, in a blatant violation of all rules of international humanitarian law, especially the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the seizure of land by force or the forcible transfer of populations.

The League affirms that these criminal plans are additional evidence of the colonial and displacement nature of the Israeli occupation, indicating a new stage of systematic ethnic cleansing against the remaining population of Gaza, under the guise of so-called "security arrangements" or "alternative management."

The League warns that any full occupation of the sector is an act of aggression according to the Basic Rome Statute, requiring urgent international action to stop it.

Parliaments and governments are called upon to clearly and publicly reject these plans, take practical steps to halt the funding and support of the occupation, impose deterrent sanctions on it, and hold the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council fully responsible for any new displacement or additional massacres resulting from this plan.

The League renews its call to activate international accountability mechanisms and bring the occupation leaders before specialized criminal courts on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
