Heads of Arab parliaments demanding the suspension of membership of the Knesset

    Heads of Arab Parliaments demanded unions and regional and international parliamentary associations, especially the the Inter-Parliamentary Union to suspend the membership of the Israeli Knesset in their organs and institutions following the adoption of the Knesset Law which legitimize theft of Palestinian land, while the government welcomed the final statement and its decisions and recommendations on the Palestinian issue.
   Heads of Arab parliaments considered the adoption of this law and other racist laws by the Knesset a flagrant violation of international law and conventions and the principles and objectives that aimed to achieve those parliamentary unions.
   They called during their final statement issued by the Second Conference them in Cairo on Saturday to confront all plans, policies and projects of settlement in Jerusalem, and stand in the face of any attempts by any party to move its embassy to it, including the attitudes and threats of the new US administration in this regard.
  They announced their committment to constantly put forward the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, in the forums and regional and international conferences and parliamentary seminars to mobilize support and support for the demands and needs of the Palestinian people, down to form a compressor parliamentary opinion to protect the Palestinian people’s  inalienable rights, and support the settlement process through direct efforts.
     The final statement also renewed his assertion that the Palestinian cause is the central and core issue of the Arab nation, calling on Arab governments to implement the decisions of the first Conference of the Heads of Arab parliaments, held in February 2016 pertaining to the Palestinian cause.
    The statement also stressed that the Israeli settlements constitute undermining the option of “two-state solution”, and amounts to a war crime, and that the UN resolution No. 2334 is an international consensus to get the steadfast Palestinian people their rights.
    The final statement welcomed the UN Security Council resolution No. 2334 issued on December 23, 2016, which decided that all Israeli colonial settlements are illegal and a violation of international law and constitute an obstacle to the implementation of the two-state solution.
    For their part, the delegation of the Palestinian National Council who participated in the Conference assured their conviction and rejection of the law passed by the Israeli Knesset on 06.02.2017, under the name of “Adjustment Act” the law that legitimize the theft of Palestinian land, and legitimize the colonial settlements.
    They considered that it represents a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, which is a dangerous step in undermining of what the whole world agreed on concerning the illegality of all forms of Israeli settlement, demanding the world to reject this law and convicted it, and not to deal with the consequences.
  At the end of the conference the President of the National Council Salim Zanoun praised the decisions and recommendations of the conference, calling the upcoming Arab summit to be held in Jordan to adopt helping the Palestinian people to stand on his land, and the face of an open war against them by the Israeli occupation.
