The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine Condemns U.S. President Donald Trump's Statements on the Displacement of Gaza Residents
The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine strongly condemns the recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the displacement of residents of the Gaza Strip. The League considers these remarks a dangerous stance that reinforces policies of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, in blatant violation of international law and human rights.
The League emphasizes that this position reflects a stark contradiction in U.S. policy and Trump’s statements. While the United States calls for an end to wars and the promotion of global stability, it continues to arm Israel with the most lethal weapons and works to lift sanctions on extremist settlers who commit crimes against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, thereby escalating tensions and encouraging ongoing violations.
The League asserts that the call for the displacement of the Palestinian people, whose roots in this land extend back thousands of years, is inconsistent with U.S. domestic policies that impose strict restrictions on immigration to its territory. This hypocrisy reveals the double standards employed by the U.S. administration in addressing international issues.
Ignoring the Palestinian reality and attempting to impose solutions that grant the occupation everything while stripping Palestinians of their historical rights is a recipe for an explosion throughout the entire region, not just the Gaza Strip. No political proposal that disregards the Palestinian people's right to their land and homeland can be accepted.
The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine views the escalation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people as a direct result of the dismal "Deal of the Century," which provided a green light for the occupation to entrench its settlement and aggressive policies without any real international accountability.
We, in the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, call on the international community and free parliaments around the world to take urgent action to stop these unjust policies, work to protect the Palestinian people from plans for forced displacement and ongoing violations, and to enhance their resilience and end the occupation.
