The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine strongly condemns the intrusion of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in a provocative step that constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.

The League emphasizes that this serious escalation occurs within the context of the occupation's ongoing attempts to change the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a gross violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and the legal status of occupied Jerusalem under international resolutions.

The League asserts that this aggression is a direct result of international complacency in addressing the occupation's violations of laws and international agreements and the silence of international institutions regarding the blatant breaches of international legitimacy, including Security Council resolutions that all emphasize the need to maintain the status of the holy city.
