The Director-General of the League welcomes the Iraqi parliament's approval of the law banning normalization with the occupation

The Director-General of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, welcomed today, Thursday, the Iraqi parliament approvement, in the first reading, of a bill to ban normalization with the Israeli occupation.

Balawi stressed, in a statement, that the draft law reflects the true positions of the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world regarding the Palestinian issue, which are the positions required of Arab parliaments and free parliaments around the world, calling on parliaments and parliamentarians to take similar steps to punish the occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people and international law and humanitarian laws, the most recent of which was the cold-blooded execution of Palestinian journalist Shereen Abu Aqleh.

He indicated that such positions will contribute to putting pressure on official, international and parliamentary institutions to move to stop the occupation's attacks, and will work to confront the misleading and false narrative of the occupation and its attempts to falsify the peoples' awareness.
