The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds strongly condemns the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque at dawn today, and brutally assaulting worshipers without regard for the sanctity of place and time.
The League stresses that this intrusion confirms the intention of the occupation to attack the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers, which contradicts his alleged statements about facilitating the arrival of worshipers and maintaining calm.
The League reiterates that this step contradicts the provisions of international law, especially Security Council resolutions 476, 478 and 2334, all of which affirm that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory; and the relevant provisions of international law apply to it, and it calls on the parliaments of the world to act urgently to stop the occupation plans related to Jerusalem and to respect its historical, legal and demographic status.
The League also affirms that this incursion comes within the plans of the Judaizing occupation, which aim to change the city's landmarks and historical character, obliterate its Islamic civilization, erase Palestinian monuments, and besiege Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Jewish neighborhoods.
