LP4Q praises Al-Ghanim’s position during the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting

Today, Sunday, the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds praised the position of Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, who supports the League’s membership file in the Union and the Palestinian cause, during the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Indonesian city of Bali.

The delegation of the League stressed, during the Al-Ghanim meeting, on the sidelines of the Union meeting, that the position of the Speaker of the National Assembly is the natural and required position of Arab and Islamic parliaments, thanking the State of Kuwait, the Emir, the government and the people, for their honourable and historical positions in support of the just Palestinian cause and the adoption of the cause of Al-Quds and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and adherence to a unified position in this regard.

Al-Ghanim had called on representatives of Arab, African and Asian groups to support the League's obtaining of observer membership in the Parliamentary Union due to the importance of its role in highlighting what is happening in occupied Jerusalem and Palestine and defending Arab and Islamic rights.

The President of the Union, Duarte Pacheco, also called for the expulsion of the Israeli delegation before the Russian, where he said, "Mr. President, thank you for what you said, you represent the presidency of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and not the +12 group of course, with all due respect to the opinion of the +12 group, we, in terms of the principle of occupation, condemn any occupation".

He continued, "I am talking to the +12 group through you, how can they ask for the expulsion of the Russian delegation, or any other delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Union because of an invasion that happened a few days or weeks ago, and the Israeli delegation is not expelled when they invaded Palestine more than 70 years ago."
