The occupation transforms Omar Abdel Razek to administrative detention

The Ofer military court issued a four-month administrative detention order against the member of the palestinian legistrative council from Selfit Omar Mahmoud Abdel Razek , 53, a week after his arrest.
According to the Office of Prisoners’ Information, the Israeli occupation forces re-arrested MP Abdel Razek on July 23, 2017 after large forces of the occupation army and intelligence officers stormed his house, searched it, overturned its contents and destroyed many of them.
It is noteworthy that the deputy “Abdel Razek” served as Minister of Finance in the tenth government, was arrested previously as other members of the West Bank 6 times, and spent more than 7 years in Israeli prisons, the last of which was for 9 months in administrative detention after the killing of the three settlers in Hebron Mid 2014.
The Bureau of Prisoners’ Information stated that the decision to impose the administrative law on the deputies is a political decision by the Israeli government to ensure that they are absent for months and years without charge or convictions, in order to reduce their influence on the Palestinian street and exert pressure on them to limit their role in confronting the occupation policies.
