President of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds Hamid ben Abdullah Al-Ahmar calls on the United Nations Secretary-General to exercise his powers to implement the international resolutions that protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and punish those who attack its legitimacy in word and deed …

Mr. Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres
As you are the main body authorized to ensure the protection and implementation of international laws and norms, I call upon you to implement all your powers to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem from repeated attacks by occupiers who violate international resolutions that guarantee its protection, in particular the resolution of the Tripartite Commission issued in 14/01/1930 and the resolutions of the Security Council, the General Assembly of the United Nations and UNESCO.
The violation of the inviolability of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the complete closure, the blatant incursions into its sanctity, the assault on the worshipers with intentional killing and injury, and their denial of access to it constitute a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the Hague Conventions of 1907 and 1954, the Geneva Conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which explicitly provides for the preservation of worship places and worship in the occupied territories.
Mr. Secretary-General, The blatant violation on these resolutions constitutes an explicit violation on international legality on the one hand and opens the door wide on the other hand to further tension and instability in the region and the world as a whole. For this reason I call upon you to exercise your powers to implement international resolutions and to punish those who attack its legitimacy in word and deed, because these practices are considered as terrorism by all standards that require deterrence and confrontation, or will have serious consequences for local, regional and international stability.
MP Hamid ben Abdullah al-Ahmar, President of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds
