UK condemns Israeli plan to build settlement units in West Bank

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson condemned the Israeli government’s intention to build over 3,000 settlement units in the West Bank.
In a statement on Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said: “We condemn the announcement of yet further settlement units in the West Bank. Settlements are illegal under international law, and not conducive to peace”.
“This hike in settlement activity makes a two state solution harder to achieve”, he added.
The Zionist war minister, Avigdor Lieberman, said last Sunday: The number of building permits in the settlements during the first half of 2017 is the largest since 1992.
The Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” said on its website: Lieberman also pointed to the approval of the construction of 3651 settlement units since the first week of this month, including 1500 units will be built inside the settlement blocs and the rest outside.
