Jerusalem, prisoners and Gaza at the head of a session of the Human Rights Council

The Palestinian Return Center is preparing to participate in the 35th session of the Human Rights Council, which was launched in Geneva, where a number of Palestinian concerns, including Jerusalem and the siege of Gaza and prisoners are planned to be put during the session.
The Center intends to present two verbal statements and four written statements discussing the latest developments within these and other addresses, as well as a workshop on the prisoners and Jerusalem, throughout the days of the session which runs from 6 to 23 June 2017.
According to the Center, its participation in this session will focus on the hottest headlines at the moment, where the issue of Jerusalem comes first, which is under increasing Judaization campaigns in light of the high frequency of incursions, and also a few days after the meeting of the Israeli government under  the Wall of Buraq, which is a very dangerous significance.
The issue of the siege on the Gaza Strip also comes back as the humanitarian situation worsens and the siege continues, especially in the light of the recent developments regarding electricity, taxes and salaries, while the issue of   Palestinian prisoners and their rights in Israeli prisons is of great concern following the collective hunger strike that lasted for 40 days and with the participation of around 1500 prisoners.
These events are a continuation of the role of the Center and its participation in United Nations programs in Geneva, Vienna and New York, where it has been a member of the UN Economic and Social Council since 2015.
