The Legislative Council approves the appointment of "Al Madhoun" as the Attorney General of the Palestinian Authority

   On Thursday, June 1, 2017, the Legislative Council approved the appointment of Mr. Ziauddin Said Salim Al Madhoun as Deputy Attorney General in accordance with the provisions of the Palestinian Basic Law and its amendments and the Judicial Authority Law. The Legislative Information Office issued a press release stating that the ratification was based on a placement from the Supreme Judicial Council.
   The statement pointed out that the ratification of the appointment of “Madhoun as the attorney general of the Palestinian Authority was carried out in accordance with the constitutional and legal basis.”
   In his turn, Ahmed Bahr, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, affirmed that this ratification comes within the framework of legislative support for the justice sectors in Palestine, pointing out that the new Attorney General has been sworn in before the legislators and thus can exercise his powers in full in accordance with legal principles.
