Speaker of the Bahraini Parliament: Parliamentary support for the establishment of a Palestinian state and the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation

   His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla, Speaker of Bahrain’s House of Representatives, affirmed Bahrain’s firm position on supporting the Palestinian cause, which was and remains the first issue of Arabs and Muslims, stressing the necessity of ending the brutal siege and stopping the criminal acts against the Palestinian people, and what prisoners are living from brutal inhuman practices in the prisons of the Zionist entity.
   His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives said that what the Palestinian people are subjected is totally condemned, affirming his confidence in the Palestinian people and the solidarity of his leadership and his people in achieving what he aspires to, based on the promotion of national unity among all the Palestinian people, adding that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to follow developments in the Palestinian territories, and works to support the Palestinian issue and stand by the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in all regional and international forums.
   This came during a meeting, on Sunday,between His Excellency the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and His Excellency MP Azzam Najib Al-Ahmad, Vice-President of the Palestinian National Council and the accompanying Palestinian parliamentary delegation, in the presence of HE Ali Al-Aradi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Deputy MP Adel Al-Assoumi, Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, HE Mohammed Al-Emadi, Chairman of the Palestinian People’s Support Committee, and Ambassador Taha Mohammed Abdul Qader, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
   HE said that the House of Representatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to support the Palestinian cause, and that the Legislative Council forms a parliamentary committee to support the Palestinian people in each legislative chapter, pointing out that the members of the House of Representatives seek in all their parliamentary participations to support the Palestinian cause, to defend it and to be united in solidarity with the Palestinian people and the affirmation of its legitimate rights, in light of the Arab duty, which requires to take responsibility for the victory of the Palestinian people.
   During the meeting, the Speaker welcomed the signing of the protocol of joint cooperation between the two houses, expressing the support of the parliament to activate the joint friendship committees and adopt all proposals that are in favor of supporting the Palestinian cause.
   His Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the great role played by Ambassador Taha Mohammed Abdul Qadir, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in enhancing bilateral relations and his prominent role in defending the Palestinian cause with the Palestinian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
   For his part, MP Azzam Najib Al-Ahmad, Vice-President of the Palestinian National Council, expressed his pride in the Bahraini position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the great efforts exerted by the House of Representatives to support the Palestinian position and support the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
