Italian Parliament Speaker: The Palestinian appeal can not be ignored

The Speaker of the Italian House of Representatives, Laura Boldrini, said that the appeal of Palestine can not be ignored and that this should be worked for it in the parliament hall.
Boldrini said at the fourth summit of the Union for the Mediterranean in the Italian Senate on Friday that “The issue raised by the head of the delegation of the Palestinian National Council, Zuhair Sanduka, is a big problem and we know it exists”.
She continued: “I think that he was right to raise this issue in this place (parliament) and that while the negotiations at the government level do not achieve results in reviving the dialogue between Israel and the Arab world, the political committees in the Union of Parliaments for the Mediterranean must act and work on it and it must be addressed in order to put together points that may be able to resume the Arab-Israeli dialogue.”
The head of the delegation of the National Council Zouheir Sanduka, who is participating in the fourth summit of the Union for the Mediterranean, addressed the Union for the Mediterranean and called on the “conscience” to help the Palestinian people suffering and living under Israeli siege and under permanent occupation with more than 6000 prisoners in Israeli jails, including women and children, who are at risk of dying in a hunger strike for more than 25 days.
Sanduka asked the heads of parliaments: How can we think about the development of Palestine and we have 600 checkpoints and a barrier and 6000 prisoners in Israeli prisons? How can the Palestinian people talk about economic development and we have 600 Israeli military checkpoints just to move from one side to another? We have recently suffered from three Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that destroyed everything, even the trees. We also have 6,000 prisoners in Israeli jails, including women and children, and are also tortured. How can we feel safe? “
He added: “Since 1948, we have been living in conditions of the Nakba, that is, in tragic circumstances and suffering. How can we think about development?
Sanduka referred to racist laws and penalties imposed by Israel against all the Palestinian people.
