The joint Arab list states that the law of "nationalism" is the most dangerous in decades and calls for the widest coalition to overthrow it

The parliamentary bloc of the joint Arab list within the occupied territories denounced the approval of the ministerial committee for the legislation of the fascist racist law called “the law of nationalism”, stressing that it will do everything possible to confront it and to foil it.
The bloc considered in a press statement that this law is one of the most dangerous laws introduced in recent decades.
An Israeli committee on Wednesday approved a law to consider Israel as a “Jewish state” or so-called national law, presented by Likud MK and former Shin Bet head Avi Dichter.
The list considered the government’s support for the law as a “declaration of war against the Palestinians on the territories of 1948 and their status and fundamental rights.”
The it noted that the law is not limited or restricted to a particular area, but legitimizes racial discrimination in all spheres of life. The law formally establishes two kinds of citizenship, one for Jews and another for Palestinian Arabs who own the country.
“The person who attended the law copied it from the laws of apartheid in South Africa, and called for legal confirmation that the state and the country belong to the Jewish people and alone, as well as subjecting all policies, procedures, laws, projects and schemes and the distribution of resources and budgets for the state being the property of Jews in the country and abroad”, the list stated.
The joint statement stressed that it is launching a Parliamentary, popular and international campaign to confrontate the law, and called for the formation of the widest coalition in the Knesset and outside to undermine the law.
