French Senate: We will work for the recognization of the state of Palestine

The vice president of the French Senate for International Relations, and the official of the Palestine file Gilbert Roger, said they had collected signatures from the senators, demanding the current French president to recognize the state of Palestine, but decided to transfer the issue to the president who will be elected.
This came during a seminar organized by the Center for Citizen Rights and Community Development in cooperation with the Faculty of Law at An-Najah National University on Saturday, in the presence of Fatah Central Committee member Nasser Al-Kidwa.
Roger said that the efforts exerted at this level continue, stressing the importance of working in parallel with Palestinian civil society in order to achieve this goal.
He reviewed the latest developments in the French electoral process, indicating that none of the traditional parties reached the final stage of the elections, but he expected that these parties will control the parliamentary elections.
He pointed to the orientation of French voters, the electoral programs and the interest of the candidates Makron and Le Pen on the Palestinian issue, and opportunities to develop the Palestinian presence on the political and community scene.
For his part, Al-Kidwa stressed the importance of working to strengthen partnership with the components of French civil society and develop a set of ideas and programs of action that contribute to the integration of Palestinians in the issues of other peoples and communities.
Al-Kidwa stressed the necessity of developing the Palestinian diplomatic work, in a way that ensures the preservation of the group of friendly countries and attracting other countries.
