The International Relations Council welcomes UNESCO’s decision on Jerusalem

   The Council on International Relations in Palestine welcomed the endorsement by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of its decision to consider Israel as an occupied Jerusalem.
   The Council on International Relations in Palestine welcomed the endorsement by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of its decision to consider Jerusalem as an occupied city by Israel.
   A statement issued by the Council said that the resolution reveals the reality of the occupation of Jerusalem and the Judaization and racism, to eliminate the archaeological and historical landmarks, and cut the road to (Israel), which calls for the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of its unity.
   The President of the Council Basim Naeem emphasized that “the ratification of UNESCO destroy the novel of the Israeli occupation in the right to exist and undermine the legitimacy of this occupation,” adding that this step must follow further steps in the realization of Palestinian rights.
   Naeem thanked all the countries that supported the resolution and voted for it, calling for more efforts from all parties in international organizations to bring more international pressure on the occupation and expose its crimes.
   The decision was made by UNESCO to consider Jerusalem as an occupied land by Israel, with a majority of 22 votes and 10 abstentions.
