Tunisia supports the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds to mobilize international support

   Tunisia has expressed its support for the path of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds to promote the Palestinian cause in various countries of the world by addressing the parliaments whose governments do not recognize the Palestinian state to persuade them to change their positions to support Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.
   The Speaker of the People’s Assembly Mohammed Al-Nasser said during a meeting with a delegation from the Association that the Palestinian issue is deep within the conscience of the Tunisian people, and Jerusalem brings together all Arabs and unite all believers in the right of peoples to self-determination and universal human rights.
   The meeting was attended by Noureddine al-Bahiri, head of the Nahdha Movement bloc in the Tunisian parliament and the ambassador of Turkey in Tunisia Omar Farouk Dogan.
  The speaker of the Tunisian parliament called the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds to take to countries that do not recognize the state of Palestine and to form a global parliamentary network that represents a parliamentary pressure force to push governments around the world to support the Palestinian cause.
   The delegation, which is visiting Tunisia for three days, consists of its president Yemeni MP Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar, the deputy head of the association Turkish MP Noureddine Nebati, the general director of the association Algerian MP Jarallah al-Bashir, And the Secretary of the Association and Coordinator of Relations Jordanian Engineer Abdullah Al-Beltagy.
   Tunisia is the first country being visited by the league’s delegation in the framework of the Maghreb tour to present its objectives and the palestinian issue and to gather positions on the course of its support.
   Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar, President of the the League of parliamentarians for Al-Quds said that the Association relies on Tunisia’s support for its programs based on legal advocacy of the Palestinian cause through legislation and laws passed in the Arab and Islamic national parliaments, and through conducting awareness activities in various Arab, Islamic and international countries such as forums and conferences.
   He stressed the need to be coordinated in advance at the level of the Association by Arab and Islamic parliaments, before the convening of the International Parliament to coordinate positions on the Palestinian issue and to mobilize international pressure for its benefit.
   For her part, Tunisian Parliament MP Soulaf Quasantini, who is responsible for the political and diplomatic file in the global campaign to break the siege on Gaza, called for the support of the Nahdha bloc for all efforts aimed at combating discrimination and applying international law against Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people in general and the besieged Gaza Strip in particular.
