Legislative deputies condole South African ambassador over Kathrada’s death

A parliamentary delegation from the Legislative Council in Ramallah on Tuesday visited the South African embassy to offer condolences on the death of fighting leader Ahmed Kathrada.
   The delegation included the expelled deputies of Jerusalem, Ahmed Attoun and Mohammed Totah, and deputies Ayman Draghmah and MP Abdul-Jaber Fokahaa, and were received by South African Ambassador Ashraf Suleiman.
The deputies conveyed their warm condolences to the Ambassador, to the people of South Africa and to the family of the deceased. They stressed that the departure of the leader, Ahmed Kathrada, is a loss for the Palestinian cause and for the Palestinian people as a loss to the people of South Africa and the free people of the world.

The deputies praised Kathrada “who spent his life defending the rights of the people of South Africa and the liberals of the world, along with the late leader Nelson Mandela. He is one of the leaders of the liberation movement and the leaders of the National Congress Party and he was elected from the South African people in parliament and became vice president.”
The deputies stressed the role of Kathrada in supporting the Palestinian right permanently and continuously.
Ambassador Sulaiman thanked the delegation for the visit and accepted the condolences, praising the role of Kathrada and reviewed some important headlines and stations in the biography and history of the late, and stressed the depth of the relationship between the Palestinian and South African peoples.
