The Arab League calls on the international community to assume its responsibility to end the occupation

The League of Arab States called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and move towards taking the necessary steps and mechanisms to end the Israeli occupation and achieve a just peace based on the vision of a two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of 4 June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Arab League called on the United Nations and the Security Council in its statement issued by the “Sector of Palestine and the occupied Arab territories” on Thursday, on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the Land Day of the Palestinian people, which corresponds to the thirtieth of March of each year, to pressure Israel (the occupying Power), to stop the policy of collective punishment against the Palestinians as siege, killing and arrests.
The statement stressed that the settlement must be stopped and the must to stop the confiscation of land and the demolition of villages and homes, theft and depletion of resources that belong to the Palestinian people.
The statement called on the international community to work to compel Israel (the occupying Power) to stop building plans in the Palestinian neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem and to demolish villages and houses in the occupied Palestinian Naqab, and the cessation of the enactment of racist laws, including the law on the prohibition of the call to prayer and the ‘Kamenets’ law which aim at accelerating the destruction and demolition of thousands of Arab homes inside Palestine, and force their children to perform the civil service parallel to military service and attempts to circumvent the imposition of one form or another.
The League stresses in its statement that the Land Day is an Arab-Palestinian day with excellence and an important station to remember the historical injustice that happened to the entire Palestinian people when their homeland was occupied , abandoned their people and destroyed their land and civilization. And on this anniversary, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States prised the heroic Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and throughout the world, to hold on to his land and it proudly recalled his great sacrifices, martyrs, wounds and prisoners who defended his legitimate rights and established identity.
