Israeli army rounds up 22 Palestinians in West Bank raids

    Israeli forces have arrested 22 Palestinians in overnight raids in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli military said in a Monday statement.
    Arrests were carried out across the territory, according to the statement, with six of the detainees being linked to Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.
    The army did not provide the political affiliations of the other detainees.
    The army frequently carries out overnight raids in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
    According to official Palestinian estimates, there are currently some 7,000 Palestinians languishing in prisons throughout Israel.
