Joint Press Briefing Issued by the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and the Jordanian Parliamentary Delegation Visiting the League

Ladies and gentlemen, representatives of the media, esteemed attendees,

In light of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the continuous assaults in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and the genocide in Gaza, we, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and the Jordanian parliamentary delegation, affirm that what is happening is not merely a temporary escalation but rather a continuation of the occupation’s policy of killing, displacement, and liquidation of the Palestinian cause, amid international complicity and unjustified silence.

The war crimes and grave violations occurring in Gaza, the West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem—including systematic destruction, killings, and attempts at forced displacement—along with the occupation’s efforts to impose new realities on the ground through settlement expansion and Judaization, supported directly by international powers that provide political and military cover, leave no doubt that the occupation seeks to eliminate the Palestinian cause and any prospects for a just and comprehensive solution.

From this platform, we declare our unified stance rejecting these policies and call for urgent action to halt the aggression and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes. We emphasize the following points:

🔹 We reaffirm Jordan’s steadfast and honorable stance in rejecting displacement plans and supporting the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II in rejecting all schemes aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause at the expense of regional states. We uphold the King’s three “No’s”: No to resettlement, No to displacement, No to an alternative homeland.

🔹 We also reaffirm the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites as a fundamental guarantee for their protection against assaults and violations. We reject any temporal or spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

🔹 We categorically reject all schemes aiming to eliminate the Palestinian cause or impose solutions that contradict the free will of the Palestinian people. We affirm their right to self-determination and to resist occupation through all legitimate means sanctioned by international resolutions and conventions.

🔹 We demand the stabilization of the ceasefire in Gaza, the complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the Strip, and the lifting of the unjust blockade imposed on it.

🔹 We strongly condemn the calls for ethnic cleansing and the displacement of Palestinians issued by the Zionist entity. We affirm that such schemes will not succeed and will be resisted by the Palestinian people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and all free people of the world.

🔹 We call on all world parliaments to take firmer stances against the occupation and to urge their governments to impose genuine international sanctions that force it to end its continuous aggression.

🔹 We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the reconstruction of Gaza and for compensating its residents for the massive losses suffered due to the brutal genocide. We also commend Jordan’s humanitarian and relief support for Gaza during the genocide.

🔹 We strongly reject the occupation’s decision to ban the work of UNRWA, and we affirm our support for its continued humanitarian and human rights role until the Palestinian people achieve freedom and independence.

🔹 We reaffirm our absolute support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish their fully sovereign independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. We categorically reject any discussion of an “alternative homeland,” emphasizing that Jordan and Palestine are two independent states bound by ties of brotherhood and shared history, and their national and political identities cannot be compromised.

🔹 We strongly condemn the occupation’s systematic killings, arbitrary arrests, home demolitions, and accelerated settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank. We reject all attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and alter its historical landmarks.

🔹 We demand immediate international action to halt Israeli assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque and to stop the repeated incursions and daily desecration of Islamic and Christian holy sites.

🔹 We call on the International Criminal Court to expedite its proceedings against Israeli war criminals and demand an independent international investigation into the occupation’s crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

🔹 We salute the Arab, Islamic, and international stances rejecting forced displacement crimes and call on leaders to adopt a unified position that protects Palestinian rights and firmly opposes malicious efforts to uproot them from their land.

🔹 We warn that ignoring the Palestinian reality and attempting to impose liquidation solutions that grant the occupation everything while stripping Palestinians of their historical rights is a direct recipe for igniting the entire region, not just Gaza. No political proposal that disregards the Palestinian people’s right to their land and homeland will be accepted.

🔹 We affirm that allowing occupation leaders to escape accountability directly encourages them to continue their massacres against the Palestinian people, deepening the humanitarian crisis and obstructing chances for a just and sustainable peace.

In Conclusion:

As parliamentarians and representatives of our peoples, our responsibility is not limited to condemnation and denunciation. We must take concrete steps to halt the aggression, achieve justice, and restore the Palestinian people’s rights. We reaffirm that Palestine remains the central cause, and we remain steadfast in our support until freedom and independence are achieved.
