The League and the Jordanian Parliamentary Delegation Call for Urgent International Action to Confront Displacement and Lift the Siege on Gaza

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and the Jordanian parliamentary delegation have called for urgent international action to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people and to confront displacement and settlement plans.

In a joint press conference with the Jordanian parliamentary delegation, the League emphasized the necessity of taking firm international measures to stop Israeli crimes and hold the occupation accountable for its ongoing violations. They reaffirmed their support for Jordan’s steadfast and honorable stance in rejecting forced displacement plans.

During the joint statement at the conference, both parties praised the role of His Majesty King Abdullah II in protecting the Palestinian cause and reaffirmed the three royal "No’s": No to resettlement, No to displacement, and No to an alternative homeland. They stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem as a fundamental guarantee to protect them from Israeli violations and attacks, rejecting any attempts to impose temporal and spatial division on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The joint statement called for immediate parliamentary and international action to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, stressing that impunity encourages the occupation to continue committing massacres against the Palestinian people.

Both parties urged the stabilization of a ceasefire in Gaza, the complete withdrawal of the occupation from the Strip, and the lifting of its unjust siege. They condemned the attempts to displace Palestinians and affirmed that these plans will not succeed due to the resilience of the Palestinian people and the support of the Arab and Islamic worlds, along with all free people worldwide.

The statement demanded that the occupation bear full responsibility for rebuilding Gaza and compensating its residents for the enormous losses they have suffered due to the brutal war of extermination. They also rejected the occupation's decision to ban the operations of UNRWA and emphasized the importance of its continued humanitarian and human rights role until the Palestinian people achieve freedom and independence.

The joint statement reaffirmed that any attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause or impose solutions that do not align with the will of the Palestinian people are completely unacceptable. It emphasized the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and resistance to occupation through all legitimate means guaranteed by international laws.

Furthermore, the statement noted that any political proposal that disregards the historical rights of the Palestinian people would be a direct cause of widespread regional instability. The parties called on the International Criminal Court to expedite its procedures in prosecuting Israeli war criminals.

The statement concluded by affirming that the Palestinian cause remains the central issue of the Ummah and that responsibility goes beyond condemnation and denunciation—it requires concrete, practical steps to stop aggression and achieve justice.

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine received a parliamentary delegation from the Palestine Committee of the Jordanian House of Representatives as part of discussions on the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause and the imminent dangers it faces, particularly displacement plans and continuous violations against the Palestinian people.

This visit was in response to an invitation from the League, emphasizing the importance of unifying Arab and international parliamentary efforts to support the Palestinian cause and counter plans that threaten Palestinian existence in Jerusalem and all occupied territories.

The Jordanian delegation participating in the visit is led by His Excellency Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh, First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, along with His Excellency Mr. Suleiman Al-Saoud, Chairman of the Palestine Committee, and Members of Parliament: Youssef Al-Rawadieh, Mohammed Al-Mahameed, Ahmed Al-Aleimat, Mohammed Salameh Al-Ghuwairi, Ibrahim Al-Saraira, Mousa Al-Wahsh, and Raed Al-Qatameen.

This visit represents a significant step in enhancing joint parliamentary efforts to support the Palestinian cause, especially in light of the unprecedented challenges facing the Palestinian people, which require firm positions and broad international solidarity.
