MP Aql:

MP Mohammad Aql, a member of the Islamic Action Front bloc in the Jordanian Parliament and Member of the Advisory Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, emphasized the need to confront current challenges, particularly the U.S. threats to cut aid to Jordan. He stressed the importance of seeking economic alternatives to ensure national decision-making remains independent. Aql also called for readiness to face any existential threats, especially as Jordan considers any forced displacement an act of war.

He noted that this period marks a critical moment in the nation’s history, requiring unity and collective action to counter ethnic cleansing plans pursued by Trump, whom he described as the "Shylock of our time." He affirmed that the Palestinian people continue their struggle in defense of Arab and Islamic dignity, just as they have for decades, most recently in the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle, where over 50,000 martyrs fell. Despite this, they rise from the rubble to reaffirm their attachment to their homeland. "How could they ever accept displacement?" he questioned.

Aql stressed that "Jordanians today are the nation's compass and its sharp sword, not a herd of slaves but lions unafraid of confrontation, ready to sacrifice our lives in defense of Jordan."

He further stated that parliamentary dialogue should not be limited to the exchange of ideas but must be followed by internal and external action. This includes cooperation between parliament and the government, supported by a clear national plan that strengthens Jordan's narrative and delivers it to the world through diplomatic and parliamentary efforts.

Concluding his speech, Aql called for an urgent session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Amman to discuss conspiracies aimed at displacing Palestinians and imposing an alternative homeland. He stressed that this issue requires a unified and strong Arab stance.
