Secretary-General of the League Condemns Trump's Repeated Statements on Displacing Gaza Residents

Dr. Mohammed Makram Balawi, the Secretary-General of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, expressed his strong rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump's repeated statements regarding the displacement of Gaza residents, considering them to reflect a dangerous colonial mindset that ignores the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people to their land.

Balawi emphasized in a press statement that Trump's handling of the Gaza Strip as if it were a real estate project that can be "resettled" according to the political interests of the Israeli occupation represents a blatant violation of international law and a disregard for the humanitarian and political realities imposed by the occupation and the ongoing blockade of the region for years.

He affirmed that Gaza is an integral part of Palestine, and its residents are not a "problem" seeking a solution outside their land, but rather a steadfast people in their homeland who refuse forced displacement in all its forms. He warned against the dangers of promoting displacement projects that aim to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Secretary-General clarified that the Palestinian people, through their resilience and struggle, have repeatedly shown their rejection of all attempts at displacement and liquidation, asserting that Gaza will belong only to its people, no matter how much pressure and schemes seek to alter the facts on the ground.
