Hamid Al-Ahmar: Gaza Has Proven Its Resilience and Commitment to Its Rights Despite Aggression

Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, expressed his congratulations to the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, on the signing of the ceasefire agreement. He praised their resilience and strong will in the face of Israeli genocide, highlighting the significant sacrifices they have made for their just cause.

In a tweet on X, Mr. Al-Ahmar stated that Gaza, with its people and resistance, has demonstrated its adherence to its rights to land and justice, despite all attempts at repression and oppression. He noted that the Palestinian will was stronger than all forms of betrayal, brutality, and the arrogance of power.

He added that the past months have shown that the Palestinian cause is deeply rooted in the hearts of Arab and Muslim peoples and the free people of the world, in contrast to the declining credibility of those who claimed to defend human rights and international law, as the aggression against Gaza has revealed the falsehood of these claims.

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, stating that it reflects a response to the voices of peoples and international communities calling for an end to the cycle of violence and for the protection of innocent civilians.

The league affirmed in a statement that achieving this agreement is an important first step towards alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, which has been under siege for years. They called for the lifting of the unjust blockade on the region and for ensuring the national rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
