The Malaysia Parliamentary Caucus for Palestine Calls to Counter Trump's Plans

The Malaysia Parliamentary Caucus for Palestine has expressed its strong condemnation and firm denunciation of the recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza.

In a press conference, MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, the head of the caucus and a member of the executive committee of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, stated that these irresponsible remarks represent a dangerous precedent in international politics and constitute a blatant violation of principles of sovereignty, human rights, and international law. He emphasized that the proposal to expel Palestinians from Gaza amounts to a call for ethnic cleansing, which is unacceptable under any circumstances.

MP Syed Ibrahim urged the international community not to remain silent in the face of these dangerous statements and to work towards ending all forms of violence and discrimination against Palestinians, aiming for a just and lasting peace based on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The caucus emphasized the need to enhance cooperation among parliamentarians in Malaysia and Southeast Asia to rally governmental support and pressure the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable.

They called for strengthening partnerships with ASEAN countries, East Asia, the BRICS group, and Global South nations to intensify diplomatic pressure for the expulsion of Israel from the United Nations and to support international legal actions against the occupation, particularly before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

They affirmed that Malaysia continues to play a pivotal role in defending the rights of the Palestinian people through international diplomacy and humanitarian assistance, noting that these efforts face numerous challenges, including the U.S. veto in the United Nations Security Council. However, they will coordinate with similarly inclined countries, such as the Hague Group, to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.

The caucus concluded its statement by affirming that Malaysia will continue its active role in defending Palestinian rights, calling on world leaders to take a firm stance against any actions that threaten international security and stability and lead to further tension in the region.
