Member of the Executive Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and member of the Palestinian National Council, MP Abbas Zaki, stated that the extremist decisions of the occupying government in the occupied West Bank aim to finalize the annexation process and are part of a racist and criminal policy.
In a press statement, Zaki explained that these measures align with the upcoming U.S. administration under Donald Trump, which supports the expansion of settlements and aims to make the West Bank a purely Israeli area. He affirmed that the occupying government is continuing its war against the Palestinians through genocidal policies in Gaza, and displacement in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the occupied interior.
He emphasized that "Israel is waging a fateful war against the entire Palestinian geography, targeting the land, the people, and the Palestinian identity." He called for the acceleration of adopting a unified Palestinian strategy to confront Israeli plans and to put an end to the Palestinian division in order to tackle this critical phase that threatens Palestinian existence and its political future.
Earlier, the Minister of National Security in the occupying government, Itamar Ben Gvir, called for the establishment of "permanent barriers" on the roads of the West Bank, claiming that "the right of settlers to life takes precedence over the freedom of movement for Palestinians."
