The Yemeni Parliament Calls on the U.S. Treasury to Revoke the Unjust Decision Against Mr. Hamid

The Presidency of the Yemeni Parliament condemned the decision by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to impose economic sanctions on the President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine and Member of Parliament, Mr. Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar.

The Presidency affirmed that these measures lack objectivity and are an attempt to silence parliamentary voices supporting Palestinian rights and rejecting the genocide in Gaza, stating, "Silencing a parliamentarian like Mr. Al-Ahmar is unacceptable to the Parliament and the Yemeni people, and we call on the U.S. Treasury to urgently reconsider this decision."

It clarified that it has tasked the Yemeni government with following up on the matter through diplomatic channels to communicate with the U.S. administration in order to persuade the Treasury Department to revoke this decision and to prevent any harm to the institutions or entities associated with Mr. Hamid Al-Ahmar and his family affected by the decision, and to correct this erroneous decision.
