Hamid Al-Ahmar: Al-Aqsa is Going Through Its Most Critical Historical Phase and the Reaction to Events is Shocking

The President of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine, Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, stated today, Wednesday, that the occupied city of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are experiencing one of their most dangerous historical phases.

In a speech during the launch of the annual report by the "Al-Quds International Foundation,"  which he also chairs, Hamid explained that we are living in a decisive historical moment: "Either Al-Aqsa Mosque will be lost, or it will remain a beacon of freedom, or Gaza will be annihilated amid silence, complacency, and impotence, or we will succeed in breaking the siege around it and supporting it in every possible way to triumph over the occupation."

He emphasized that the statements made by the Minister of National Security in the occupation government, Itamar Ben Gvir, regarding his intention to build a Jewish synagogue within the Al-Aqsa Mosque, "would have faced widespread Arab, Islamic, and international rejection. Sadly, today, it passes without accountability, which encourages the Zionist extremist movement to commit more assaults on Al-Aqsa."

Mr. Hamid stressed that the decline in Arab and Islamic engagement with the issues of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the genocide in the Gaza Strip has reached shocking levels, noting that some regimes have chosen to side with the oppressor and remain silent, while others have timidly chosen to support Palestine.

He pointed out that the Palestinian people had no choice but to respond to the open Israeli aggression on their land and people, as well as on Islamic and Christian sanctities and prisoners, with the flood of Al-Aqsa. He affirmed that the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves is guaranteed by both national and divine laws, and that the occupation is null and illegitimate.

The head of the League continued, "The United States and Western countries close their eyes and do not want to see the injustices faced by the Palestinian people, nor the crimes committed against them by the occupation, while they deny Palestinian rights." He added, "This imposes on all of us the necessity of exerting maximum pressure on these countries to stop their participation in the killing of the Palestinian people and the usurpation of their rights."
