The French National Assembly suspends the membership of a deputy after he waved the Palestinian flag

The French National Assembly decided to expel Deputy Sébastien Delogu for 15 days and suspend his membership in the Assembly for waving the Palestinian flag during a parliamentary session on the situation in Gaza.

Deputy Sébastien Delogu from the Unbowed France party waved the Palestinian flag as an expression of his rejection of the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation against the displaced in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Delogu explained, "I waved the Palestinian flag in the National Assembly, because at the time I am speaking, France is selling weapons and selling components to supply the Israeli army, and there is a genocide taking place."

He added, "I don't care at all about the judgment that the President of the Assembly will issue, and the French state is complicit today in what is happening in Palestine... My group and I are proud to belong to the camp of international law."

Deputy Sébastien Delogu considered the penalty as a "medal" and that what he did was a "personal initiative", adding, "Will the President finally wake up after my waving of the Palestinian flag to say that he must stop selling weapons?"

He added, "At the time I am speaking, France is selling weapons and selling components to supply the Israeli army, and there is a genocide taking place... I don't care what the National Assembly does to me."
