The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds holds the occupation and the international community fully responsible for the ongoing events in Gaza

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds expresses great concern for the situation in Palestine and affirms that the Palestinian explosion that occurred this morning is a result of the continued Israeli occupation's assault on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the annexation of Palestinian lands, provocation of Palestinian sentiments, escalating Judaization of the occupied city of Jerusalem, and the relentless siege imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2006, which has caused catastrophic suffering in the region and a spiral of violence and injustice that has shattered any hope of peace.

The league emphasizes that what has happened is a clear indication of the inactivity of the international institutions who proved unable of asserting the international law e to curb methodical violation of the human rights, as well as the result of the complicity of major powers with the Israeli occupation, enabling it to extinguish any opportunity for justice for the Palestinian people. It was natural for the Palestinian people, under the development of this protracted situation, to exercise their right to resistance and return to their land.

The League expresses its deep concern for the civilians and calls for international protection.

The league calls for seizing this opportunity to empower the Palestinian people in obtaining their rights and not allowing the situation to escalate into a bloodier confrontation with unpredictable consequences. The league also urges the world and various parliamentary bodies to hold the Israeli occupation accountable, demanding its compliance with international law and decisions, and rejecting the policy of forceful dictates and imposition of the status quo.

The league holds the occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of the events due to its ongoing attacks, obstinacy, and disregard for international law, as well as its continuous aggression against the Palestinian people.
