Bahr calls for the formation of a United parliamentary front to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ahmed Bahr, stressed the need for parliamentarians to unite to confront the fierce Zionist attack led by the fascist occupation government targeting al-Aqsa Mosque and the formation of a united international parliamentary front to support Jerusalem and Palestine.

Bahr, during his speech at the international parliamentary e-seminar organized by the league of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds entitled: "ways to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli aggression", with the participation of Arab and international parliamentarians, stressed the importance of the Arab, Islamic and international parliamentary role to support the cause of Al-Aqsa, both at the personal parliamentary level and at the level of Arab, Islamic and international parliaments and parliamentary unions, which have political, legal and media responsibilities that should be framed through a clear strategy capable of deterring and exposing the crimes and schemes of the occupation.

He pointed out that the occupation is pushing towards igniting a religious war in the region through its plans and attacks in the occupied city of Jerusalem, calling for the issuance of urgent parliamentary resolutions and launching the widest international political, diplomatic and media campaign to support Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem, and expediting the filing of legal cases before international and local courts against the crimes and practices of the occupation, and pushing for the prosecution of its leaders as war criminals.

Bahr pointed out that the occupation's attacks did not take into account the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan, or weigh the religious and historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and did not pay attention to international conventions and laws that stipulated respect for houses of worship, freedom to perform devotional rituals and respect the religious identity and the human and civilized heritage of peoples.

The league of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds held an international parliamentary seminar to take practical steps in response to the occupation's attacks in Al-Aqsa, with the participation of the chairmen of the Palestine committees of several Parliaments and deputies from various countries of the world.
