Many Jewish extremists today stormed the Muslim holy place, Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem's Old City, under heavy protection from the Israeli police. This has prompted Muslims observing the holy fasting month of Ramadan to react.
The extremists, divided into groups, stormed the compound early in the morning and performed Jewish rituals within its walled yards despite a ban on that activity. This is in violation of the longstanding status quo.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces have been intensifying their measures against Palestinians who are trying to reach the mosque for worship during this holy month. They have been inspecting their IDs and briefly detaining some of them.
The attackers stormed the compound and removed the worshippers, many of whom were trying to hold prayers all night, in order to clear the compound for the morning storming by the Jewish fanatics of the Muslim holy place, which is considered a provocation to the feelings of the Muslim worshippers.
