Rep. Ilhan Omar: Horrified by rampage of Israeli settlers in Palestinian villages

US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar stated in a statement that she was "horrified" by the rampage of Israeli settlers on Palestinian towns in the West Bank last weekend, which resulted in the burning down of dozens of cars and houses, the death of an innocent person, and the injury of over 100 people.

"This comes against the background of tremendous settlement expansion and de facto annexation of the West Bank by the most rightwing Israeli administration in history—moves that would extinguish all prospect for a two-state solution," the US congresswoman stated.

"The United States must pursue full accountability for any violations of international law, and guarantee that our own U.S. tax funds are not being used to pay violations of human rights," she said.

"Putting human rights at the core of foreign policy and supporting a rules-based international order requires holding violators accountable, whether they are our partners or rivals."
