Pakistan has expressed concern over the safety of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories following Israel's killing 11 Palestinians and injuring more than 100 in an assault on the northern West Bank city of Nablus the day before yesterday.
Commenting on the events in Nablus, Pakistani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said: “We condemn all acts that lead to the killing of innocent civilians, including in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The spokesperson said Pakistan's position on Palestine is consistent: "We support a comprehensive approach for the resolution of the Palestinian issue."
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said Pakistan has maintained there should be a full Israeli withdrawal from occupied Arab territories, including Jerusalem. "There should be a restitution of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to exercise their self-determination and sovereignty in an independent and viable State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital," she said, calling for a just solution to the plight of the Palestinian refugees in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution.
