The League holds meetings with the delegations participating in the 44th session of the African Parliamentary Union

A delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds held meetings with a number of officials and parliamentarians on the sidelines of its participation in the 44th session of the African Parliamentary Union, held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The delegation of the League, represented by its Director General, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and a member of the league’s executive body, Dr. Yunusa Abu Bakar, with the participating delegations from Chad, Niger and Nigeria. During the meetings, they discussed how to establish Palestine committees in parliaments, ways to support the Palestinian cause and adopt it in their countries’ parliaments, and activate the role of parliamentarians regionally and internationally in exposing the practices of the occupation towards Jerusalem and Palestine.

The meetings also reviewed ways to enhance and coordinate efforts between the African Parliament and the League to serve the Palestinian cause, as well as discussing coordinating positions in various regional and international parliamentary forums in order to support the cause.

For its part, the delegations participating in the meetings valued the efforts made by the league to support the Palestinian cause and support the Palestinian people, calling for greater communication with parliamentarians and parliaments around the world to inform them of the crimes of the occupation.

A delegation from the league of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds participated in the work and meetings of the 44th session of the African Parliamentary Union in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, which discusses the contribution of parliamentarians to combating terrorism and violent extremism and the serious economic and social repercussions of the scourge of terrorism on the population of the African continent.

The League has an observer membership in the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, in addition to the African Parliamentary Union.
