Arab Parliament appreciate the outcomes of the tripartite summit between Egypt, Jordan and Palestine and reaffirms the support for rights of the Palestinian people

The President of the Arab Parliament, Adel Al Asoomi, confirmed that the Arab Parliament highly values the outcome of the tripartite summit, which brought together President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Jordanian King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, which took place at the Federal al palace in Egypt.

Al Asoomi added that the Arab Parliament commends the contents of the final statement issued by the summit, which emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause as the first Arab cause, and support for the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to establish their independent and sovereign state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital city Jerusalem, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, as well as the need to preserve the historical and legal status quo in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and to reject all practices that aim to prejudice it, emphasizing the importance of the historical Hashemite guardianship over the Islamic and Christian holy places in the city of Jerusalem and its role in protecting this The sanctities and the preservation of its Arab, Islamic and Christian identity.

Al Asoomi expressed the full appreciation of the Arab Parliament for all the sincere efforts of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II to promote the Palestinian cause and to promote a just and comprehensive peace, which is the key to achieving security and stability in the region.

Al Asoomi stressed that the Arab Parliament joined the leaders of the three States on the importance of working towards Palestinian national reconciliation and the need for all Palestinian parties to respond to the efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt in this matter in order to uphold the best interests of the Palestinian people, as well as to call on the international community to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. (UNRWA) and provide financial support to enable it to provide vital services to Palestine refugees.
