Palestinian National Council calls to gather efforts denying Israel to join the African union

The political committee in the Palestinian National Council called upon the African Union Executive Council to revoke the Israeli request to rejoin the union, considering the fact that the reasons for freezing the observer membership of Israel remain valid, on the contrary, Israel continues to commit more crimes against the Palestinian land and its sacred locations, moreover, conduct ethnic cleansing and discrimination, reject to compel to International Law resolutions to end its occupation of the Palestinian land which aims to deny establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

This meeting came up with the participation of the council presidency committee on wednesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The committee discussed the decision of readmitting Israel to the African Union as observer and the way to allocate the necessary stances to revoke this decision in the upcoming meeting for the African union.

The participants viewed the decision of bringing back Israel membership as a great violation of the African charter of human rights and the values of the African union and its statutes which emphasizes to deny and reject discrimination and end the Israeli occupation.

The participants mentioned that the Palestinian people suffer on a daily basis from the Israeli occupation authorities, the same way the African countries suffered the atrocities of colonization.

The committee requested all the freedom fighters of Africa to declare their support for the Palestinian people and pressurize to deny Israel access to the union.

The participants affirmed that this decision contradict with the African union resolutions which supported completely the rights of the Palestinian people to return, end the occupation and to establish Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital according to the international law. Moreover, this decision forms a political support to settlement occupation and forced displacement of Palestinians the same way as it happens in Shaikh Jarrah and Silwan town, additionally to the cold-blooded killing of innocent children imprisonment and Judaization of the holy lands.
