ŞENTOP CALLS FOR HOLDING AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TO PROTECT JERUSALEM

Turkey's Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, affirmed on Wednesday, the Republic and the Parliament's support for the rights of the Palestinian people and the cause of Jerusalem.

Şentop stated while receiving a joint delegation a meeting with the Palestine Committee of Jordanian House of Representatives. and the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds (LP4Q), in the Turkish capital, Ankara, that the Turkish Parliament is preparing to hold an international conference on the Palestinian cause in coordination with the Palestine Committee in the Union of Islamic Parliaments, stressing his country's support for the Hashemite custodianship On the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

He stressed that the cause of Jerusalem is the cause of all humanity, and the issue of every person who believes in freedom and law, regardless of his race, religion or political opinion, pointing to the importance of working to stop the occupation’s attacks and violations against the Palestinian people and the Holy City, especially the plans to evacuate the homes of Jerusalemites.

Şentop called for the trial of Israeli war criminals in international courts for their attacks on the Palestinian people and the Islamic and Christian sanctities in occupied Jerusalem, praising the LP4Q's role in coordinating international parliamentary efforts to defend Jerusalem, explaining that he closely follows the LP4Q's activities, publications and positions.

He expressed his absolute support and that of the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for the LP4Q's coordination of parliamentary work to serve Jerusalem and Palestine, thanking the LP4Q's President, Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar and his deputy, Dr. Nureddin Nebati, for their efforts in this context.

Şentop expressed his support for the efforts of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Committee in the Turkish Parliament, headed by the member of the Executive Board of the LP4Q MP Hassan Turan, and thanked him for the distinguished roles it plays.
